The backing tracks Earl uses for his live performances vary from jazz ensemble arrangements, such as those on his albums, to big band arrangements that closely resemble the recordings of the original artists. Due to licensing restrictions, Earl is not permitted to record demos or produce recordings for commercial gain with many of the backing tracks he prefers to use for his live performances. The versions he performs live may therefore differ from those on his albums.
